Skymicro Announces Server Configurations
Skymicro’s new server configuration
services enable customers to
effortlessly deploy Encoding Solutions
(Las Vegas, Nevada April 16, 2007) - Skymicro Inc. is
pleased to announce a new custom configuration service for customers that
prefer integrated systems that perform Video and Audio Encoding using
Skymicro’s popular Merlin line of video capture/codec boards. Skymicro’s
encoding products include the standard definition Merlin05 board which
features encoding and decoding in 4:2:2 MPEG-2, DVCpro50 and IMX, Skymicro’s
HD product, the MerlinHD/Director, and their combination HD/SD board, the
MerlinHD/Producer. Skymicro’s Server Configuration Service is designed to
enable Skymicro customers to gain maximum benefit from Skymicro’s hardware
and BRec encoding and playback application.

Service leverages our systems engineering experience to provide our
customers with the best performance available at the price.”

configurations and many customers choose
to integrate the boards with their own systems and hardware,” explained Rudy

Skymicro, “Our Server Configuration Service is intended to service customers
who wish to acquire
a turnkey system or wish for us to provide a system recommendation.”
Skymicro’s Server Configuration Service provides customers
with two options: Option 1 gives customers the option of having a
ready-to-run server delivered to them with up to 2 Skymicro Merlin cards
installed. Custom integration of customer hardware such as Fiber Channel
Storage Interfaces is available, enabling seamless integration into the
customer facility. Option 2 provides the customer with the option of
acquiring and configuring the hardware themselves, using Skymicro’s
recommended servers. For this option, Skymicro provides a customer
integration kit, including everything needed to assemble the server.
